Having recently become a Texas Transplant, I was immediately thrown into a whirlwind of all things San Antonio & Texas. H-E-B (my personal favorite), the Spurs, Blue Bell Ice Cream, BBQ, the Riverwalk and so much more. Phil and I just moved downtown San Antonio; we are still trying to navigate our way around and explore more of the City.
This past weekend the weather in San Antonio was perfect. Yes, that’s what I said, the weather was perfect. Perfect weather, and in Texas?! Doesn’t happen often, so we had to capitalize on it. Strolling down the Riverwalk, we started our journey at Blue Star. A few miles later we found ourselves downtown and definitely deserving of a little treat to help fuel us for the rest of our walk. We scoured the Riverwalk for the perfect snack for this beautiful, sunny, Sunday. And then we stumbled upon one of my Texas favorites, the ultimate ice cream, Blue Bell. There’s really nothing more Texas than a Sunday stroll on the Riverwalk with Blue Bell ice cream.
If you’re curious where that Blue Bell ice cream comes from on the Riverwalk, stop by the Hyatt Regency. Inside is the most amazing candy store with all the best sour gummies, chocolates to die-for, and of course, the famous Blue Bell ice cream. It always pairs nicely with a waffle cone! This secret little store doesn’t have a name, believe it or not, but it’s the only chocolate & candy store inside the Hyatt Regency, on the ground level. If you didn’t know, the Riverwalk runs through the Hyatt. You can stop by for a scoop on your way to check out the Alamo, and you won’t be disappointed!
